Who we are

Yunify provides business-operations software for retail merchants, including tools to manage customer communications.

What we collect

  • Merchant account data — name, email, and business details you provide.
  • Business data — the products, orders, inventory, and customers you enter or import into Yunify.
  • Instagram messaging data (only if you connect your Instagram professional account) — the direct messages your customers send to your Instagram account and the replies you send, plus the sender’s Instagram username and the profile information Instagram provides. We access this only after you explicitly connect and authorize your account, and only for accounts you have connected.

How we use it

  • To operate Yunify for you (orders, inventory, customers, communications).
  • To help you read and reply to your customers’ Instagram messages inside Yunify, including drafting suggested replies that you review and approve before sending.
  • We do not sell your data or your customers’ data, do not use it for advertising, and do not message anyone who has not messaged you first.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. We use a small number of service providers to run Yunify, each processing data only on our instructions and only for the purpose listed:

  • Supabase — the database and file storage where your data, including Instagram messages, is held.
  • Vercel — application hosting, and basic performance measurement of page loads.
  • Anthropic — the AI that reads and writes text for you: suggested replies, sorting an incoming message by what it asks for, reading an uploaded photo or order document, and written summaries. To suggest a reply we send the conversation, the products that answer it, and the relevant part of that customer’s record — their name, recent purchases, saved sizes and upcoming appointments. Some of this runs automatically when a message arrives or a conversation is opened, not only when you press the button. Nothing is ever sent to a customer without a person pressing Send.
  • Voyage AI — turns your product catalog, and a customer’s message, into numerical representations so Yunify can work out which products a message is about.
  • Google — Maps Platform, for delivery: a customer’s delivery address is sent to be converted into map coordinates, and addresses and stops appear in route maps. Separately, if you connect a Gmail mailbox, Google carries the email Yunify reads and sends there.
  • Open Route Service — an alternative delivery route planner; it receives the coordinates of delivery stops.

Each provider is engaged under business terms that permit them to process the data only to provide their service to us, not for their own purposes. Instagram data is never used for advertising.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active, so that you can read your own conversation history. Specifically:

  • Disconnecting Instagram stops all further access immediately: the access token is deleted and we stop receiving new messages from that account. Messages already stored in your Yunify account stay there, so your history is not lost, until you ask us to delete them.
  • On request, we delete your data — including stored Instagram messages — within 30 days. See our data deletion instructions.
  • If you are a customer of a shop that uses Yunify and you messaged that shop on Instagram, you can ask us to delete your messages directly — email us with your Instagram username, using the same instructions.
